For Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior High and Senior High school pupils. Tae Kwon Do (the martial art of self-defense) classes have met with success for the last fifteen years at Mandoulides Schools.
Tae Kwon Do is not a martial art that turns one into a lethal weapon, as it is
commonly believed. On the contrary, it is the scientific use of the body,
which, through intense physical and mental practice, aims at defending both
oneself and fairness, in a society that holds countless dangers.
In Tae Kwon Do emphasis is placed both on physical exercise and moral values,
thus promoting healthy bodies but also sharp minds.
Tae Kwon Do aims at creating virtuous people, based since ancient times on high
qualities and virtues such as humanity, justice, kindness, wisdom and trust.
Apart from self-defense techniques, pupils learn obedience, discipline, respect
and consideration for their fellow human being, which is, after all, the whole
point of participation in sports. Moreover, they get to know and
familiarize themselves with the spirit of justice and equality embodied in Tae
Kwon Do, thus contributing to ironing out human differences and, ultimately, living
in a better world.
