Art and Crafts

Arts and crafts play a tangible role in furthering the students down the pathway artistic refinement. This department gives the children the "hands on" opportunity to express in ink, pencil, paint and clay what they feel in their hearts. On a number of occasions students earned laudatories and recognition for their works, which is, more than the art itself, a of voice responding to the world around them. As an example, our alumnus Arsenis Zahariadis was awarded the top honors for Greece in a European competition emphasizing the plight of African children. Ioannis Legbelos who is studying at Yale University, USA, was awarded as a second national winner in the same competition, as well. Other contests our children have been involved are:
  • International Painting Competition: Byzantine Artifacts
  • Worldwide Competition in Doll Making sponsored by The Children's Academy of Arts
  • 3rd and 4th Worldwide Biennale in Children's Painting
  • International Geographical Competition
  • Student Art Competitions sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
